Senior Development DBA (Oracle, SQL Server)

Description:
6 month contract-to-hire.

We need a versatile development DBA with solid experience in Oracle and SQL Server.

Skill highlights:

- Strong SQL Server 2000-2005 experience (2-10 yrs)
- Strong Oracle (10g) database development experience (2-10 yrs)
- Good SQL Server / Oracle database administration experience (1-3 yrs)
- Able to balance multiple projects and priorities

Environment:

- Agile application development team
- SQL Server 2005 databases with web-based front-end
- Oracle 10g databases with web-based front-end

Skill breakdown:

The optimal candidate should have strong SQL Server development experience as and Oracle database development skills. Some DBA administrative skills are preferred. Roughly 85% of time spent will be related to development tasks with 15% on database administrative tasks. Development and architecture experience with SQL Server 2005 is essential. Some Oracle 10g is also required. Oracle 11g experience is a plus.

The candidate should have experience working in an application development environment. Exposure to Agile based development environments is a plus.

Analytical work (determining client requirements) is also an important part of the role. The candidate should be comfortable and have experience interacting with the customer. Customer interaction will occur on a daily basis.
